Job Summary
The University of Michigan Law School Experiential Education Legal Practice Program is seeking an experienced administrative assistant to provide seasonal administrative support for the Legal Practice Program. This position reports to the Director of the Legal Practice Program and Experiential Education Business Administrator Senior.
Work Expectations
Please note that this position is a 10-month seasonal appointment at a reduced effort of 75% (30 hours per week Monday - Friday) annually from August through May. You should expect to report to the office a minimum of three days per week and may maintain up to two remote days. Working hours are negotiable.

The Legal Practice Program (LPP) is a required first-year two-term program for all incoming 1L students on the UM-Ann Arbor Campus. Via intensive critiques from their professors, students learn how constantly revising their work product makes their analysis more precise and their arguments more persuasive. This close relationship with the Legal Practice professors helps prepare students for the interactions they'll have with senior attorneys and clients when they enter practice.
Responsibilities*
In partnership with a second LPP Administrative Assistant Intermediate, key duties for this role include:
General faculty, office and program support - Manage the Legal Practice Program (LPP) office, serving as liaison between the LPP and academic faculty, staff, students, and other Michigan Law units, responding to inquiries, and complying with Law School and University policies and procedures. Assist with onboarding and orienting new LPP adjuncts, visitors and faculty and helping familiarize them with program, school and University policies and procedures. Assist LPP faculty with routine needs such as document creation and editing, securing material or digital resources, oversight of program marketing materials, meeting and event planning, financial reimbursement and reconciliation, record keeping, and travel.
Student support - Serve as co-point-person (with the other LPP Administrative Assistant) to answer questions and communicate with students and faculty regarding course requirements. Manage MCommunity email groups and online student portfolios. Draft student recommendation and clerkship letters as requested.
Curricular support - Work closely with LPP faculty, students, and other Law School staff and administrators to ensure the successful implementation of courses taught by the LPP faculty. Secure course materials, organize 1L LPP oral argument schedule, assist with students? class submissions, check for participation in Canvas, and manage online resources for faculty through Canvas.
