Facilities and Grounds Technician (multiple positions)
Job Description
This full-time union position reports to the Director of Facilities and Grounds and is scheduled for 37 1/2 hours per week Monday-Friday. The person in this role performs routine maintenance work on buildings, facilities, and equipment and all custodial duties. The Facilities and Grounds Technician plays an essential role in maintaining all buildings and physical plant operations while supporting a learning environment that promotes the health, attitude, and pride of students. This position provides regular building maintenance functions by performing custodial and maintenance tasks to maintain cleanliness and care of facilities within assigned areas. The custodian position also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature. Duties include both maintenance operations and custodial operations.
• High school diploma required or GED equivalent.
• General knowledge of and experience with CCBC facilities and grounds as well as cleaning skills required to meet position expectations.
• Capability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment used.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Maintain effective working relationships with other people.
• General understanding of college policies and procedures.
