Senior Director of Medical Operations
The Senior Director of Medical Operations reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and supports medical staff operations and related activities for Blythedale Children’s Hospital. The Senior Director is responsible for supervising several functional departments and providing operational and analytical support to the medical care team. This position works collaboratively with the CFO, CNO, and COO and their teams to help the hospital achieve its patient care and business goals.
The Senior Director of Medical Operations is responsible for:
· Innovating and standardizing care to enhance quality and patient outcomes, improve performance, and reduce costs across the hospital.
· Developing a team dedicated to clinical informatics to support clinical operations and business decisions, including:
o A program for data analytics.
o Optimizing the use of the hospital’s electronic medical record and other data management systems.
o The launch of a unified communications system.
o Supervising the department of Health Information Management, including the development of a utilization review program.
· Supervising the Medical Staff Office, including:
o The development of a robust medical education program and professional development program.
o The management of the Graduate Medical Education program.
o The recruitment and retention of physicians, nurse practitioners and trainees.
· Supporting the CMO and the organization to comply with all regulatory guidelines.
· Developing an academic partnership and supporting clinical research.
· Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to:
o Improve the delivery of care for children with complex medical conditions.
o Expand hospital operations.
o Identify, develop, and implement long term business development opportunities.
Successful Candidates must possess:
· A master’s level degree (or higher) in a relevant field of study.
· Experience working in health care, preferably pediatric care.
· Excellent critical thinking skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· The ability to collaborate with peers and subject matter experts in interdisciplinary teams.
· Experience with managing a budget.
Salary Range:
· $175K- $200K
