The Program Manager, Strategic Giving will work closely with the Vice President, Strategic Giving (VPSG) to manage and oversee the Trust’s transformational gift program. This role will innovate systems and infrastructures for transformational gift strategy development and execution in collaboration with colleagues across the Trust.

This Program Manager, Strategic Giving will:
- Oversee projects to engage philanthropic support from the Trust’s transformational gift prospects, including:
- Organizing, preparing for and following up on regular transformational gift prospect strategy meetings
- Tracking the execution of the transformational gift strategies in collaboration with fundraisers across the Trust.
- Develop systems and processes necessary for the organization, monitoring, and execution of development projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with fundraisers on tracking cultivation and stewardship plans for transformational prospects.
- Maintain current knowledge of the Trust’s top transformational prospects, including biographical information, philanthropic vision, giving trends, and ongoing media coverage, both nationally and internationally.
- Work with the prospect development research team and fundraisers on tracking the identification of new transformational prospects and pathways to engage them.
- Work with the Major Gifts Communications team and fundraisers on coordinating communication plans related to BCH fundraising priorities and senior leaders’ correspondences with and briefings for transformational gift prospects.
- Create and maintain pipelines for transformational gift opportunities aligned with BCH priorities. Facilitate and participate in meetings focused on cultivation strategies for transformational prospects in collaboration with fundraisers across the Trust.
- Work with VPSG to develop strategic planning documents, as well as creating BCH leadership travel and engagement strategies accordingly.
- Contribute to discussions on fundraising needs and priorities in prospect strategy sessions by making connections and recommendations.
- Proactively take the initiative to stay abreast of BCH activities and enterprises and attend symposia and other forums to continue learning.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the value of creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
- Actively support and engage in creating and sustaining a workplace that fosters creativity and innovation.
- BA degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fundraising environment
- Strong positioning, writing, and analytical skills to present complex clinical, research and medical issues that require philanthropic support across Boston Children’s Hospital.
- Ability to persuade and negotiate with external organizations and individual prospects around cases for support, gift agreements and relationships with the Trust and the Hospital.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional poise, particularly when interacting with senior leadership, faculty, and development staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to analyze, synthesize, and present information effectively.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, and solution-orientation to be responsive to both staff and donor issues.
